Finzelberg highlights branded botanical ingredient portfolio and new beverage concept at Brazil’s NIS Nutri Ingredients Summit

Finzelberg, a global supplier of botanical ingredients to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries, is excited to announce its participation at the NIS Nutri Ingredients Summit, held from 15 to 16 April at the TransAmerica Expo Center in São Paulo, Brazil.

NIS offers an innovative platform to enable strategic partnerships with businesses and suppliers for the food, beverage, and pharma sectors in South America.

Finzelberg will be located on Street 05, Booth 80, and will be showcasing the company’s portfolio of science-backed branded ingredients that target a wide range of health categories and challenges. These include AGILIROSE JOINT®, CONCENTAL®, 360 GUT®, MENTALIFY®, and a new and exclusive sports drink targeted at younger consumers, featuring RECOVERA®. As a branded ingredient RECOVERA® is based on the exclusive plant extract Opuntia ficus-indica and is a highly effective solution in controlling blood glucose – increasing the absorption of nutrients and improving post-exercise recovery.

Finzelberg’s range of products on show offers an ideal solution to meeting modern-day consumer demand for formulations that target brain health, mood and cognition, gut and joint health, sports, and active nutrition. Of special interest to the nutraceutical and dietary supplement market are the following three products.

CONCENTAL® is a science-backed product, specifically developed to target brain health in high-stress situations across a diverse demographic ranging from young professionals to active seniors.

Dr. Cynthia Suarez-Rizzo, Project Manager New Product Development at Finzelberg explains, “CONCENTAL® is built on the active compounds extracted from Sidertiis species, cited in numerous studies for its positive effect on brain health. CONCENTAL® works by immediately increasing oxygenated cerebral blood flow and modulating neurotransmitters for cognitive improvements and increased concentration in high-stress situations.”

Another product interest is Finzelberg’s plant-based prebiotic 360 GUT, which can meet the demand for products that balance the microbiome and assist with gut health.

“We are incredibly excited about 360 GUT®. This next-generation prebiotic is based on Thymus serpyllum and is a highly versatile choice when used in combination with pre-pro- and postbiotics. In a pilot study conducted by Finzelberg, 360 GUT® showed significant improvement in gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, and a second, larger study is about to conclude,” Cynthia adds.

Furthermore, with the increase of behavioural issues in children and teens, including hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention, Finzelberg will be highlighting the benefits and application capabilities of MENTALIFY®. Based on a Lemon verbena extract, MENTALIFY® works by modulating neurotransmitters, noradrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin in the brain. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical trial commissioned by Finzelberg shows that MENTALIFY® can foster less energised behaviour and positively affect mood, when compared to a placebo, with a significant improvement in cognitive performance.
