Finzelberg highlights its branded ingredient portfolio at Vitafoods Europe and will be launching AGILIROSE® BEAUTY to address beauty-from-within formulations

Finzelberg, a global supplier of botanical ingredients to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries, is excited to announce the launch of AGILIROSE® BEAUTY, its newest branded ingredient, targeted at ‘Beauty from Within’ formulations at Vitafoods Europe. The event will be held from 20 to 22 May at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat in Barcelona, Spain.

At booth #3J96, Finzelberg will showcase its portfolio of science-backed branded ingredients that target a wide range of health categories and challenges. These include AGILIROSE® BEAUTY and JOINT, CONCENTAL®, RECOVERA®, 360 GUT®, and MENTALIFY® in addition to highlighting its own European cultivation of Rhodiola rosea1.

Highlighting the scientifically researched benefits of AGILIROSE® BEAUTY, Dr. Cynthia Suarez-Rizzo, Project Manager New Product Development says, “Our new branded ingredient offers a wide range of benefits to supplement ranges aimed at promoting skin health. AGILIROSE® BEAUTY combines the synergies of rosehip extract with collagen with clinical data supporting that the product can improve skin firmness, structure, and elasticity, while offering better protection against environmental stressors and boosting collagen production.”

Of special interest to the dietary supplement and nutraceutical industry are three of Finzelberg’s top branded ingredients.

CONCENTAL® is a science-backed product, specifically developed to target brain health in high-stress situations across a diverse demographic ranging from young professionals to active seniors. CONCENTAL® acts as ‘fuel for the brain’ and can assist in delivering cognitive benefits for professional athletes and gamers who require faster reaction speeds and reduced error rates, individuals who work in high-pressure and demanding situations that require rapid information processing, and boosting the cognitive performance and memory in ageing populations.

Cynthia explains, “CONCENTAL® is built on the active compounds extracted from Sideritis species also known as Greek mountain tea – cited in numerous scientific studies for its positive effect on brain health. It works by immediately increasing oxygenated cerebral blood flow and modulating neurotransmitters, which leads to cognitive improvements and increased concentration in high-stress situations.”

Another high-level product is its plant-based prebiotic 360GUT® which can meet the growing demand for products that support microbiome balance and gut health. Current estimates show that prebiotic ingredients are set to see a robust annual growth rate of 8.15% by 2026.2 As the science linking a healthy gut microbiome and brain health continues to grow, it is fast becoming one of the most important areas of innovation for ingredient developers and brands focused on the development of supplements and functional food and beverages.

“Finzelberg understands the importance of gut health and its impact on cognitive wellbeing so we are incredibly excited about 360GUT® – our botanical prebiotic that feeds the beneficial gut bacteria and induces a microbiome-balancing effect. This next-generation prebiotic is based on Thymus serpyllum3 and effective in comparably low doses compared to regular fibers, alongside being highly versatile when used in combination with pre-pro- and postbiotics,” Martin notes. “During our pilot study, 360GUT® showed significant improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, and a second, larger study is just about to be concluded”, adds Cynthia.

Furthermore, with behavioural issues in young children and teens, including hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsivity continuing to increase sharply, Finzelberg’s branded ingredient MENTALIFY®, is specifically formulated to help manage behavioural issues in young children and teens.

“We will be highlighting the benefits and application capability of MENTALIFY® during Vitafoods,” Martin says. “MENTALIFY® is a highly efficient botanical extract from Lemon verbena4and is designed for children and teenagers displaying behavioural characteristics such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.”

MENTALIFY® works by modulating neurotransmitters, noradrenaline, dopamine, and serotonin. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled human clinical trial showed that MENTALIFY® fosters a less energised behaviour, offers a positive effect on mood states compared to placebo, and offers a significant improvement in cognitive performance for children and teenagers, particularly for those facing challenges with inattention and hyperactivity.
